Al Hoceima National Park Guide

Al Hoceima National Park protects 485 km² of Mediterranean coast, limestone cliffs and Aleppo pine forests in northern Morocco. Ideal for hiking, birdwatching and Rif culture.

How to get there

Main access is a 30-minute drive from Al Hoceima via the N16 toward Adouz. Secondary access from Bades, Torres de Alcalá and Cala Iris.

Hiking trails

Climb Jebel Tidighine (2,456 m), the coastal Cala Iris–Torres de Alcalá trail (6 km) and the Bokkoya valley loop (8 km).

Biodiversity

Bottlenose dolphin, osprey, Eleonora's falcon and Barbary macaque. Aleppo pine, wild olive, thuja and dwarf palm.

Best time to visit

Spring and autumn for trails; summer for the beaches of Cala Iris and Bades.

Practical tips

Stay on marked trails, no fires, respect Berber communities and hire a local guide for long hikes.
